Appointments

How long should I allow for my appointment?

We allow 90 minutes for first-time bridal gown consultations, 1 hour for follow-ups and bridesmaid consultations, and 30 minutes for most other appointments. If you are simply trying on and picking up your dress, you will have access to a fitting room for 15 minutes. We may have appointments booked right after yours (especially during peak times), so we ask that you be mindful of the time to avoid running over.

Is there anything I should bring to my appointment?

We encourage you to bring foundation garments, as we do not have shop samples for you to use. If you are interested in purchasing the Flattering Me Bra to wear for your wedding, please let us know when making your appointment so we can allow for extra time for a bra fitting before you start trying on dresses. Also, feel free to bring your own {clean} slippers to put on after removing your shoes. For your convenience, we do supply clean socks for those who aren’t wearing any. Lastly, don’t forget to bring your camera, as unlike most shops, we allow you to take pictures!

What can I expect during my appointment?

It’s difficult to imagine what a wedding dress will look like on the body when it’s hanging on a hanger, in a garment bag, in a closet full of hundreds of other dresses. Consequently, we have a closed stock room (meaning only our staff is allowed in where the dresses are hanging). This is where pictures come in handy! We’ve created a collection of bridal galleries that offer you a virtual look into our physical inventory. If you discover any dresses in those galleries that you’d like to try on, please schedule an appointment and provide us with a list of your favorites. We will gather a group of dresses based upon your selections and have them ready for you to try on when you arrive for your appointment. We have found this process saves everyone time and allows us to best assist you in finding your wedding dress. If you have any questions about what to expect during your appointment, please don’t hesitate to ask!

Bridesmaids: Just as with our bridal gowns, our bridesmaid dresses are kept in a closed stock room, so feel free to browse our bridesmaid galleries to see what styles we offer. If you find any that interest you, please schedule an appointment and provide us with a list of your favorites.

What is the price range of your dresses?

We have some of the best the bridal industry offers with dresses to fit nearly any budget!

Wedding Gowns: Our formal designer wedding gowns range in price from $750-$2200 (most average $1000-$1500), while informals start around $500 (to keep costs down, bridesmaid dresses can also be ordered in white, ivory, champagne, blush, silver, gold, etc. which make fantastic options for wedding informals). The gowns in our sale gallery range include both formal and informal styles and range in price from $199-$899 (most average $399-599).

Bridesmaid Dresses: Our bridesmaid dresses range in price from $115 to approximately $250. The majority of them average $150-$190.

Do you offer any discounts?

We have a variety of purchase options, which can save you up to $100 on Designer Wedding Gowns and up to 70% on dresses in our Sale Gallery. Additionally, if you purchase a designer gown and decide to take advantage of our “full-service” option, you will be registered in our Rewards Program, which provides you with discounts on bridesmaid dresses, suits/tuxedos and accessories to complete your wedding look. Occasionally, we run specials in conjunction with bridal shows, trunk shows, etc. Your consultant can explain the details of all available options before placing an order/making a purchase.

What sizes do you carry?

Wedding Gowns: Our bridal gown inventory includes dresses in sizes 4-26. To provide you with the widest selection of styles, we typically stock just one or two samples of each dress—so although the gown you decide on may not be in your ideal size, chances are good that we have another similar style available for you to get a better idea of what it will look like when it fits. Even if a sample fits well, we always take measurements before special ordering a dress (as samples can be mismarked or stretched out). For an additional charge, many of our dresses can also be ordered with custom measurements, so don’t fret if you think you’re going to be “hard-to-fit”!

Bridesmaid Dresses: We can special order bridesmaid dresses in sizes 2 – 30W, but we are at the mercy of the manufacturers when it comes to sample sizes, and they primarily provide us with samples in sizes 10, 12, or 14. Consequently, you should plan to have one of your bridesmaids who is closest to this range try them on to narrow your selection. Once you have it down to 2-3 styles, then other members of your party can try them on if you would like. Even if they’re a little smaller or larger than a particular dress, they should still get a feel for what the styles will look like on their figure. We do have a limited number of plus size samples, so please inform us if you are in need of them. Regardless of the size of your bridesmaids, we always take measurements to decide what size to order, and never rely on how a sample fits.

Do you provide alterations?

Formal gowns almost always require alterations to achieve a perfect fit. We do not offer in-house alterations, however, you’ll be in good hands with one of the skilled seamstresses we recommend. When you pick up your dress, we can provide you with their contact information.

The Process + Timeline

When should I begin shopping for my dress(es)?

Wedding Gowns: Shopping for your bridal gown is one of the most exciting things about getting married, and while it is generally never too early to start looking, we recommend waiting to start the search until you are actually ready to make a decision. If you are not prepared to place an order when you find your dream dress, you run the risk of it being discontinued before you are ready to put money down. There are thousands of styles to choose from and it can be quite overwhelming if you extend the shopping process too long or to a large number of shops. In general, we recommend you begin shopping for your wedding gown at least 9-10 months before your wedding, whenever possible.

Bridesmaid Dresses: There are a variety of things to consider when shopping for bridesmaid dresses, including your bridesmaids’ figures, the time of year and the setting of your wedding, but perhaps most importantly, your bridesmaid dresses should compliment your wedding gown—after all, think of all those photos you’ll be in together! Therefore, the style of bridesmaid dresses you want may change based upon the wedding gown you select, and many brides end up walking down the aisle in a dress that is nothing like the one they originally set out to find {except for the fact it’s totally amazing}. Since shopping for everything at once can be extremely overwhelming, so we recommend waiting to shop for bridesmaids dresses until after you’ve found your wedding gown.

When should I place the order for my dress(es)?

Wedding Dresses: We truly live in a global community and must understand the big picture. Most garments in the bridal industry are made overseas. Thus, from the time you order your dress until you walk down the aisle, upwards of 50 people have probably been involved, and every one of them wants the entire process to go smoothly. When dresses are shipped from overseas they must clear customs on both ends and given the unstable nature of today’s world, sometimes added delays do occur. Therefore, when possible, we recommend bridal gowns be ordered at least 8 months before the wedding. If you do not have that much time, off-the-rack gowns or rush orders may be your only options. As a general rule, when you know you’ve found the dress you want to wear for your wedding, we suggest ordering it—placing the order for your gown will check a big to-do off your list and will allow you to move forward with finalizing other details of your wedding. Additionally, we have no control over when a dress will be discontinued, and although we are usually notified ahead of time, it is not guaranteed, so waiting to order could result in you not getting the dress of your dreams.

Bridesmaid Dresses: Much of the above applies to bridesmaid dresses as well, although production time is a little shorter. Consequently, we recommend bridesmaid dresses be ordered at least 6 months before the wedding. If you do not have that much time, rush orders and/or quick service styles may be your only options.

How do I know what size to order?

When you place your order we will take your exact measurements and assist you in selecting the correct size gown for you. Our experienced staff is trained to provide you with the best fit. We can also advise you on custom changes or custom measurment options available on our designer wedding gowns.
