Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need an appointment?

Yes. The Hope Chest is open By Appointment Only, Monday thru Saturday. We are closed on Sundays and most major holidays. Click here to schedule an appointment. Please note: Multiple clients may be scheduled at the same time.

How many people can I bring to my appointment?

Like many bridal salons, our shop is not an appropriate place for large groups, babies or children, so please note the following when preparing for your appointment:

  1. We limit each bride/client to a maximum of 3 shopping companions.
  2. Infants and children under 14 are not allowed.*

*If any of your guests have children, be sure to inform them of our policy as well. (If you have a young boy/girl in your wedding and they’re in need of a dress/tuxedo, please arrange an appointment solely for them so they can receive special attention.)

This makes for a relaxed, stress-free and productive shopping experience for all. We are better able to answer everyone’s questions without confusion or misinterpretation, so in the end you receive the attention you deserve. We recommend bringing one or two guests whose opinions you value most, because we want to ensure you walk away with exactly what YOU want, and the more opinions there are, the more overwhelming decisions become. This may not work for everyone, and we understand that, but we thank you for respecting us and our other customers by not asking us to make an exception.

How long should I allow for my appointment?

We allow 90 minutes for first-time bridal gown consultations, 1 hour for follow-ups, bridesmaid and prom consultations, and 30 minutes for most other appointments. If you are simply trying on and picking up your dress/tuxedo, you will have access to a fitting room for 15 minutes. We may have appointments booked right after yours (especially during peak times), so we ask that you be mindful of the time to avoid running over.

What should I bring to my appointment?

Feel free to bring your own {clean} slippers to put on after removing your shoes. For your convenience, we do supply clean socks for those who aren’t wearing any. Also, don’t forget to bring your camera, as unlike most shops, we allow you to take pictures! For wedding gown consultations, please refer to our Bridal FAQ for additional recommendations.

Can I take pictures if I find a dress I like?

Yes, unlike many bridal salons, we do allow you take pictures. If you don’t have a shopping companion with you during your appointment, we’ll even take them for you!

Do you provide alterations?

We do not offer in-house alterations, however, you’ll be in good hands with one of the skilled seamstresses we recommend. Contact us, and we will put you in touch with them.
